Today is the inauguration of Barack Obama as president of the United States of America. It follows the 41st anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr, which I wrote about yesterday<\/a>. Today, I don't have a lot of words to say, because it's not really about me today, although it is about me. I'm only a few years older than President Obama (yup, I'm saying it now), but when I was a kid, I never believed I could become president. Sure, I did believe I could become almost anything in the world, but president wasn't one of those things.<\/p>\n

So, today is the day, the day of hope, but with reservations. I know that he can't fix everything today, and I hope everyone else knows it also. But he does bring hope, and he brings energy, and he brings togetherness. These are things that weren't prevalent in either 2000 or 2004, so it is indeed a new day.<\/p>\n

I thought about what to post here today to help get my feelings across. I decided to post this video for the song \"U Will Know\" from the movie \"Jason's Lyric\", along with the lyrics to the song; they're fitting. Congratulations, President Obama; now, let's get to work:<\/p>\n
