What Happened?

Have you noticed it's kind of bare here? Well, suffice it to say, the server where my blog "was" totally crashed, and that's pretty much that.
Luckily, I had all templates saved, and I had even gone into my account and downloaded what I thought was everything from my account. However, what I didn't know was that the hosting company had, about a month earlier, moved all data files to a different server because they thought something was wrong with one of their servers, but they didn't tell anyone they'd done it. So, when I had downloaded what I thought was everything, it was everything except my data files.
Anyway, I was crushed, but I had to think about whether I wanted to give up the ghost, or start again from scratch. So, I took a few days to think about it, and decided I still have things to say. There's also a possibility that I might be able to, in some way, recover a few things, and if that happens I'll post them anew. No sense in sitting around, pining forever on what was; time to move forward and continue trying to accomplish good things, both here and in life.
This is going to be a new beginning; doesn't mean I won't be the same guy. 🙂
Greetings, great one! I’m glad you decided to continue. Otherwise, I’d have had to make some comments about being a quitter and other rude things. I am now happy that I don’t have to ruin our friendship. Have an awesome day.

Welcome back, Mitch.
Your experience is a blessing and a curse. It’s another lesson for all of us who don’t take time to back up our intellectual property. Other people’s servers simply cannot be trusted to house our work.
I’m one who hasn’t saved my online work in some months, but that will change this weekend.
I look forward to reading your shared wisdoms.
Glad not to disappoint you, Mr. Ringold, though, not that you’ve mentioned it, I have to turn it around and ask when your next blog post is coming. 😉
I believe that answer is in your email box, sir. Have an awesome day.
