I'm not lying when I say I'm happy to see 2009 come to a close. Though there were a few good things in the year, overall I didn't quite see things that way. Still, I was able to stay pretty positive throughout the year, which is a good thing.

So, as I look forward to 2010, I figured why just concentrate on what I want. Why not wish great things for everyone. So, here's what I wish for everyone.

1. I wish everyone prosperity. I hope unemployment falls and I hope people can find work they not only like, but that will help them sustain the life they want to live.

2. I wish everyone peace. I know I'm not the only one tired of hearing about suicide bombings, terrorism, assaults and murders, and all sorts of problems caused by others. Okay, maybe we cause some of these things ourselves also. Still, a little bit of peace for everyone isn't a bad thing to wish for. Maybe a lot of peace; try to find things that make you happy and content and do more of them.

3. I wish everyone enlightenment. If you're going to be prosperous and peaceful, you might as well have a reason for it and something to do with it. With the reduction in income in 2009, I didn't give as much to the hungry as I usually do, but I did still give.

Today I gave a small donation to someone helping to get money for fighting cancer in children. My wife donates a lot of things from both of us to both the Rescue Mission and battered women's shelters. There's a lot of people who could use a little bit of help here and there, and some of those people could be your neighbors. Keep your eyes and hearts and minds open and everyone benefits.

4. I wish everyone a good laugh at least once a day. Laughter not only makes us feel good, but it helps to keep us healthy; that's a fact.

5. I wish everyone good health. Who doesn't want to feel physically good as well as mentally good? Some of this you might have to help out on, such as taking time to exercise. But if you need to be on your medications, take them as your doctor recommends and only like that. Be truthful to yourself; if you need help, get it.

That's enough of that; Happy New Year everyone, and I hope to see and hear more from all of you in 2010.
