I've always wondered about the term "gay agenda" myself, as if gays were a monolith of one belief. Goodness, there are conservative gay people, so where's the agenda? As for the other, I hope it's a momentary stumble also. Based on his full record, I don't have any worries that he supports some of the things Warren has said. I'm sure he had a good reason for it, but if I'd had to make the choice, I know I'd have gone a totally different way. Hey Xero. So in the hopes of setting the record straight, here is the gay agenda, boiled down to two words: EQUAL RIGHTS. Not special rights. Not "Separate, but equal." Equal. Nothing more, nothing less. Shocking, isn't it? Expecting to be treated like everyone else in my community! In the United States, no less! As for Obama picking Rick Warren for the invocation: what was he thinking? Was he trying to placate those who didn't vote for him? Is he looking to balance everyone's stance, and in the end, sending a questionable mixed message? I am hoping that this was just a small stumble for him, and that he'll be a little more careful when inviting controversial figures onto center stage.
