Changes To My Office
Sometimes it takes something somewhat radical to help get you kick started back into a work mode. I had been in a general malaise for a few weeks, since I got back from North Dakota, but the truth is that I was still tired from a long consulting assignment, and I just needed a change.
I was discussing this with my wife, and she suggested we finally do some things with my office. This is the room I’m always in when I’m home, except to sleep. I rarely go to the kitchen or any other room, not including the bathroom, so my office needs to be a place where I can feel inspired to do good work. It should also be a place that you feel comfortable with, because, like me, you’ll probably spend more time there than anywhere else.
Not everyone can do this, especially if you work in an office belonging to someone else. But everyone can do something with their workspace to make them feel comfortable, and hopefully, motivated.
So, with that, here’s a few shots of my new room. Yes, the walls are red, so now the new rug is a bright red also. My ceilings are white; my wife won that one. And the furniture you see is brand new, as I needed more places to put things so I can try to keep my desk and office cleaner, which helps me feel better also. It is with humility that I share my new workspace with you.

So, this is my place, and you wouldn’t believe the output of work I’ve completed in the last week and a half. What can you do to help make your workspace more comfortable?
