Last Monday night on the WWE, which I love by the way, there was a storyline where the owner of the organization, Vince McMahon, supposedly got blown up in his limo after the show went off the air, yet was still going on for the audience. Over the course of the week, on other wrestling shows, they were doing their version of tributes to him, but they were also still wrestling, and of course we all knew it was what they call kayfabe, or just part of a storyline. There was no news about it, and, after all, it is kind of an adult male soap opera.

Then two things happened along the way. The first was the passing of a woman named Sherri Martell, who was known as Sensational Sherri, passed away at age 49. The second happened earlier this morning, where Chris Benoit, his wife and young son, were found killed in their Atlanta home.

Tonight the WWE has been doing a tribute show to Chris Benoit, as the wrestling family has always come together to honor their own, especially a presently working and popular wrestler. However, it was supposed to be a special three hour show dedicated to the "investigation" of what had happened to Mr. McMahon and his limo. Because of the tragedy, Mr. McMahon had to make an appearance tonight, obviously messing up the storyline they had set, so that he could also pay tribute to Mr. Benoit, and of course mentioned the storyline that they were supposed to do.

At this point, it would be ridiculous to go back to the storyline they had been working on, but in my mind, it was an irresponsible storyline to begin with. Sometimes, people just don't learn from past mistakes. The last time the WWE had something going like this, the storyline was about one wrestler who was making threats against the family of another wrestler, saying he was going to kill them all; that weekend, the wrestler making the threats passed away himself, and of course the storyline came crashing down.

There are some things you just don't play around with, and shouldn't do. Sometimes, those mistakes become very visible, and there's nothing but embarrassment all around. Because there are some decisions that just shouldn't ever be made, some that are just so bad that common sense should have told you it shouldn't even be thought of. They come back on you, and they may haunt you for a very long time.

This was one of them. Rest in peace, Benoit family.
