Myself As A Professional Speaker And Presenter
In March, I will be giving a two day presentation at Onondaga Community College entitled Your Website As A Marketing Tool. The initial plan is to give this presentation for small business owners who may be considering whether they need a website or not on some kind of continuing basis, as the next classes after this are scheduled for July.
This leads into another part of my business, which is doing speaking engagements and presentations. Though this presentation is associated with another division of my business, my website business called SEO Xcellence, it highlights the fact that I have been giving public presentations for at least six years now.
Within the last year, I’ve started giving some presentations on website issues. My very first presentation back in 2001 was on leadership and management in healthcare, and I’ve given some version of that presentation in five states. I’ve given presentations and seminars on diversity, customer service, sexual harassment, and motivation for numerous groups.
And I’ve given many different presentations on healthcare finance subjects as it pertains to office policies for both hospitals and physicians, charge master and charge capture issues, and even some more specific training classes on medical billing forms, which, believe it or not, many hospital billing personnel almost never see because almost everything is automated these days, yet, having knowledge of the billing forms helps them understand what the information they’re usually looking for means.
Thus far, I’ve been in nine different states, and I’ve been a part of two national teleseminars, through other companies. Long term, I know I want to conduct some of my own teleseminars, but I really would like to one day say I’ve given presentations in every state in the union. If there was a real goal in my life, it’s to have my overall profession transition one day to public presentations, private coaching, and writing. Hey, we all need goals, right?
